WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS

What is Exploring Consciousness?

Exploring Consciousness is an intensive 2-day residential workshop developed by The Monroe Institute (USA) to offer direct experience of expanded states of awareness, self-discovery, and personal transformation.

It introduces participants to Focus 10 and Focus 12, two foundational states that support inner exploration, greater self-understanding, and access to previously untapped inner resources.

The program is designed to help participants:

Directly experience expanded states that often take years of practice to stabilize.

Apply these states practically in everyday life.

Learn tools to access these states more easily, even beyond audio support.

Better understand the Total Self

Access untapped inner resources

The program is experiential in nature.

It does not rely on belief, suggestion, or interpretation.
It focuses on direct experience, supported by structured guidance.

THE MONROE INSTITUTE

A Program Developed by The Monroe Institute®

“Experience is the greatest teacher.”
— Robert A. Monroe

The Monroe Institute is one of the world’s most recognized organizations in the field of human consciousness exploration.

Founded in the early 1970s by Robert A. Monroe and Nancy Penn Monroe, it has spent more than 50 years developing research, education, and audio technologies to support expanded states of awareness and self-empowerment.

Monroe Trainers conduct residential, virtual, online, and outreach programs worldwide in multiple languages.

Its programs are conducted globally and are based on:

  • structured methodologies

  • decades of research and refinement

  • direct experiential learning

  • non-religious, non-dogmatic frameworks

It comes from a structured lineage of consciousness research and training.

This workshop follows the same structured approach.

It is delivered in alignment with Monroe’s training standards.

WHY THIS PROGRAM MATTERS

Why People Join Exploring Consciousness

During this workshop, participants use Monroe’s proven Hemi-Sync® audio guidance technology to help focus the mind, meditate more easily, solve problems, cope with daily stress, awaken creativity, realize goals, and access a deeper sense of fulfillment and inner potential.

The below are the common outcomes and benefits reported by participants, including:

  • access to inner guidance

  • enhanced meditation

  • enhanced intuition and creativity

  • insights into life issues

  • release of fears and limiting beliefs

  • expanded awareness

  • deep physical relaxation

  • mental calm and clarity

  • stress reduction

  • improved sleep

  • effective problem solving

  • emotional and physical healing

  • greater synchronicity

  • greater knowing of the Total Self

This program introduces a different possibility.

Through guided sessions using Monroe’s audio-based techniques, participants are able to access states that often take years of independent practice to reach.

This is why the workshop is best positioned not as entertainment, but as a foundational self-empowerment training.

FOCUS 10 & FOCUS 12

The Foundational States You Will Experience

The workshop introduces two core Monroe states:

Focus 10

A state often described as mind awake, body asleep — deep physical relaxation with alert awareness.

Focus 12

A state of expanded awareness in which consciousness stretches beyond ordinary physical identification, opening access to intuition, guidance, and nonphysical perception.

Students listening to Monroe Institute music for the Exploring Consciousness workshop.

These states are not abstract concepts.

They are directly experienced during the workshop through guided processes.

They form the foundation for deeper exploration of consciousness.

HOW THE WORKSHOP WORKS

A Structured, Guided Process

Monre Institute training setup - Mixing console with knobs and sliders, connected to a laptop showing a presentation or document, on a desk.

The workshop is conducted through a carefully designed sequence of guided exercises supported by Monroe’s audio technology.

Participants work with:

  • high-quality stereo headphone-based audio guidance

  • structured state transitions

  • guided inner processes

  • reflective discussion and integration

  • a supportive group environment

Each session is designed to gradually deepen awareness while maintaining stability and clarity.

The environment is not passive.

It is actively guided, with continuous support and instruction.

WHAT IS HEMI-SYNC®

Understanding Hemi-Sync® Technology

Hemi-Sync® (Hemispheric Synchronization) is an audio-guidance technology developed by The Monroe Institute.

It works by presenting slightly different frequencies to each ear, encouraging the brain to synchronize into specific states associated with relaxation, focus, and expanded awareness.

It is Monroe’s audio-guidance technology designed to help both hemispheres of the brain synchronize, making it easier to enter specific states of consciousness.

It is important to understand:

  • this is not hypnosis

  • no suggestions are imposed

  • there is no loss of control

  • participants remain aware throughout

The audio supports the process.

It does not create the experience on its own.

It is different from ordinary binaural apps. The Monroe recordings are proprietary and layered, developed and researched over decades rather than built from simple commercial dual-tone beats.

WHAT YOU MAY EXPERIENCE

Individual Experience Will Vary

Group of students using in Monre Institute training practicing with each other.

Each participant experiences the process differently.

Some may notice:

  • deep physical relaxation

  • subtle vibrational or energetic sensations

  • inner imagery, colors, or symbolic perception

  • emotional release or clarity

  • intuitive insights or inner guidance

Others may experience the process more quietly.

Both are valid.

Not every experience is dramatic.
Not every experience is immediate.

What matters is the shift in awareness —
often subtle, but meaningful.

Participants are guided to observe, not force.

How This Is Taught

Nobody Moves On Until Everybody Has It

Most training pages describe what will be covered. Fewer describe how it will be taught — which, in work of this kind, matters more.

The way Dr. Rashhi teaches is the same across every Soul Consciousness Lab® programme, and it is the reason our trainings run longer days and smaller groups than most.

Why We Do Not Publish an Hour-by-Hour Agenda

Because there isn't one.

Dr. Rashhi does not teach to a clock — not in Past Life Regression, not in hypnotherapy, not in shamanism, QSR™ or mediumship. There is no schedule saying this method by eleven, the next by one.

The theory in these trainings is close to zero. Nothing is taught as a concept to be understood and moved past. Every method is entered, experienced, discussed, and entered again — and the group does not move on until every person in the room can do it.

Not until most of the group is comfortable. Not until the confident ones have it. Until the last student says they have understood.

This is a safety standard before it is a teaching preference. A practitioner who half-learned a method will one day use it on a client. Dr. Rashhi wants to have watched you do the work in front of her — safely, from beginning to end, understanding what happened — before you are taken anywhere further.

Which means the shape of a programme genuinely changes from batch to batch. Every group has its own energy. One batch moves quickly through a method and needs two days on something another group absorbs in an afternoon. That is not a scheduling failure. It is the method working as intended, and it is the difference between a training you attended and a training you can practise from.

We have seen programmes elsewhere run to a curriculum: complete the exercise, brief discussion, next topic, on to the close. That is not how this is taught, and it is not what you are paying for.

In This Room, Everybody Speaks

Dr. Rashhi has trained with teachers across several countries, and she describes herself as an introvert. Opening up in a group did not come naturally to her, and she found it hard to say aloud what she had experienced.

She also noticed what happens in most training rooms. The teacher asks who would like to share. The same few speak. The quiet ones sit through an entire programme without once opening their mouth — often confused, often holding a question they never ask — and the teacher does not look their way.

Everyone shares. Nobody stays silent.

This is a rule here, and it exists because she was that person in the room.

Sharing matters because assumption is the real danger in this work. You can learn a great deal from what others experienced — but what matters most is what happened to you, and whether what you did was sound. That cannot be assessed if you never say it.

So each person speaks, and Dr. Rashhi listens — patiently, without hurry. Where something needs correcting, she corrects it there and then. Where it was well done, you hear that too, and you know to keep going.

Discussion is not timed. It runs as long as the questions run. She will not close a subject because a clock says so — though she may say honestly that a topic needs more room than the days allow, and that it will be given more at the next level.

Nothing Is Left Unresolved

Dr. Rashhi does not set an exercise and step away. She stays with the group throughout, and every practice is followed by discussion before anything else begins.

That matters because this work asks for energy and patience, and there are stretches where you genuinely cannot tell whether what you are doing is right. If something did not go as expected, or you lost your way partway through, you say so and it is worked through then — while it is still fresh, and while the group is still in it.

A difficulty is addressed on the day it happens, not carried home and left open until the next level.

Nobody here is left to work it out alone.

CONTINUING AFTER THE WORKSHOP

A Practice You Can Continue

This is a self-empowerment workshop, not a dependency-based model.

Participants receive the Free Flow 12 track for self-practice at home and can continue using the tools learned in the workshop, such as the Energy Conversion Box, REBAL, affirmations, and Focus 12 problem-solving methods in meditation and everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything an aspiring participant may wish to know about the Monroe Institute® "Exploring Consciousness" 2-day workshop.

  • It's a 2-day intensive program by The Monroe Institute® that helps you directly experience expanded states of awareness — Focus 10 and Focus 12 — through guided Hemi-Sync® audio sessions, personal reflection, and group discussion. The goal is to better understand your Total Self and learn tools for deeper meditation, intuition, healing, and problem-solving.

  • The Monroe Institute, founded by Robert A. Monroe — the pioneer in human consciousness research and creator of Hemi-Sync® sound technology.

  • Focus 10 — "Mind awake, body asleep." A deep meditative state of full-body relaxation held together with alert awareness.

Focus 12 — Expanded awareness. Your consciousness stretches beyond the physical body, opening access to intuition, guidance, and nonphysical perceptions.

  • Most meditative practices take years to stabilise such deep states. Hemi-Sync® gently guides both brain hemispheres into synchronised frequency patterns, helping you reach these states reliably and quickly.

  • Exploring Consciousness is foundational — it teaches the Focus 10 and 12 states, energy tools, and awareness expansion, with no prerequisite. The OBE workshop is advanced, building on Focus 12 & 21 to teach conscious separation from the physical body. Here the focus is awareness expansion; there it is projection training.

  • No — this is the official Outreach version, not the Gateway Voyage program. You can attend even if you've already done Gateway Voyage; it will still benefit you profoundly, as the music and content are different.

  • No. The Monroe Institute is a non-religious research and education organisation. Participants from all spiritual or scientific backgrounds are welcome.

  • It's short for Hemispheric Synchronization. The audio tracks contain specific binaural frequencies that balance the brain's hemispheres, supporting relaxation, focus, and expanded perception.

  • No. Hemi-Sync® doesn't impose suggestions — it simply creates a frequency environment where your brain naturally synchronizes, helping you reach meditative states faster. You remain in complete control throughout.

  • Monroe recordings use proprietary combinations — binaural beats, pink noise, and complex overlays — that create brainwave states like theta and alpha for deep meditation. The exact frequencies are confidential.

  • Hemi-Sync® has been researched for over 50 years, tested in laboratories, and balanced for long-term use. Most commercial apps use simple dual-tone beats; Monroe's recordings are layered with vocal cues and spatial audio for full-brain coherence.

  • Yes. EEG studies show brain-wave synchronization and increased alpha-theta coherence during Hemi-Sync® use, linked to relaxation, creativity, and intuition.

  • Deep peace, colours, sounds, vibrations, floating sensations, inner guidance, or emotional release. Each person's experience is unique — some sense subtle energies, others receive intuitive insights.

  • That's completely fine. The effects often integrate subconsciously and unfold later. Repetition deepens sensitivity over time.

  • Yes — sometimes the body deeply relaxes. But since awareness often remains active, many participants still receive impressions or insights even if they drift briefly.

  • Focus 12 can open access to nonphysical guidance or inner knowing. The exercises "Five Messages" and "Five Questions" are specifically designed to support this.

  • Occasionally people experience a light separation or floating sensation (especially in First Stage Separation) — but the purpose of this workshop is awareness, not projection.

  • The workshop is safe for most people, with no known adverse effects. As a sensible precaution, anyone with severe psychiatric conditions or active seizure disorders should consult their doctor before attending, since deep relaxation states may warrant medical guidance.

  • None. The technology guides you gently into the states. Both beginners and advanced meditators benefit equally.

  • Each participant uses stereo headphones and high-fidelity playback of Monroe's Hemi-Sync® recordings. Recliners or mats are provided for deep relaxation.

  • They're derived from them, but curated for group learning. Some parallel Gateway tracks (like Intro to Focus 10, Release and Recharge, Problem Solving in Focus 12), while others are exclusive to this workshop.

  • Day 1: Introduction → Focus 10 → Energy Application → Release & Recharge → DEC Tool → Grounding.

    Day 2: Focus 12 → Problem Solving → First Stage Separation → Five Messages/Questions → Closing circle.

  • Each lasts about 35–45 minutes, including setup and sharing. Between audios there's group reflection, Q&A, sharing circles, and simple grounding or energy-awareness exercises.

  • Bring: comfortable clothing, a water bottle, a notebook, a shawl or blanket, and an open mind.

Included in the fee: accommodation, meals, all workshop materials, and your certificate.

  • You'll receive the Free Flow 12 track to continue self-practice at home, and you can use the tools — Energy Conversion Box, REBAL, Affirmations — in meditation, problem-solving, or daily stress management.

This is a self-sufficient, self-empowerment program, designed to give you everything you need to continue independently. The purpose is to help you become your own guide — able to enter and navigate expanded states confidently and safely, anytime you choose.

  • Only certified Monroe Trainers can conduct official programs. However, you can freely apply what you learn personally, or within your own meditation or healing practice.

  • In this work, the line between imagination and "real" experience is not a wall — it's a doorway. Early on, imagination is how the nonphysical world communicates with us: the bridge between the conscious and the expanded self. Think of it as tuning your radio to the right frequency before the signal becomes clear.

With practice, genuine experiences begin to carry distinct markers:

    • Spontaneity — it arrives unexpectedly, not from deliberate thought.
    • Clarity — a vividness or emotional truth that feels "more real than real."
    • Insight — it leaves understanding or healing imagination alone couldn't produce.
    • Persistence — it stays with you, like a memory rather than a dream.
    • Energy resonance — you feel it in the body: warmth, tingling, or deep calm.

As Bob Monroe put it, "Everything begins as imagination, then becomes experience." Accept what you perceive without labelling it, record impressions right after, and let repetition reveal the difference — in this work, imagination is not fantasy, it's the training ground of consciousness.

  • Meeting loved ones: in these expanded states it's possible to sense or connect with loved ones who have passed on. It may not be a literal vision — often it's a feeling of presence, a gentle knowing, or a symbol carrying their essence. The key is to stay open but not expectant; connection happens when both sides are ready, always within a framework of love and learning.

Receiving healing: healing can occur on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. Exercises like Release and Recharge and Intro to DEC are designed to clear blocked energy and restore balance. The principle is simple — when consciousness expands, energy realigns, and healing is often a natural by-product of coherence.

Not everyone experiences this the same way. If connection or healing occurs, receive it with gratitude; if it doesn't, trust that the process has still begun.

  • Yes. Focus 12 is powerful for both, because it combines deep relaxation with expanded awareness — the analytical, doubting mind quietens while intuitive and creative levels become active.

For manifestation: intention is magnified. Holding a clear image or feeling of what you desire — without attachment or fear — imprints it strongly into the larger field. Think of it not as ordering from the universe, but as tuning yourself to the frequency of what you want.

For emotional clearing: Focus 12 gives safe distance from emotional charge — you witness feelings rather than drown in them. As awareness expands, stored emotion moves and discharges naturally.

It doesn't replace daily effort or therapy — it enhances them, giving access to the deeper layers where patterns and possibilities are formed.

  • Most participants do notice a shift — not because the workshop tells them what to believe, but because it lets them experience consciousness directly, beyond ideas or doctrines. It expands perspective rather than replacing belief: it widens the frame your beliefs live in.

The change tends to be quiet and stable — a broader sense of reality, deeper empathy, less fear of change. No one loses their grounding; in fact, participants often report being more centred and less anxious afterwards. As the saying goes, once you've glimpsed how vast you truly are, life looks the same… yet feels entirely different.
